Transparency and responsibility guiding Blupura’s energy choices
Environmental protection and the responsible use of resources are central values in Blupura’s vision. In a context where sustainability requires concrete and verifiable actions, the company has chosen to strengthen its environmental commitment by signing a new energy supply contract based on the use of electricity certified as coming from 100% renewable sources.
For Blupura, having certainty that the energy used in its production processes derives from certified renewable sources is a fundamental aspect. This choice goes beyond simply reducing environmental impact, it reflects a responsible and transparent approach, grounded in traceability and compliance with European and national regulations.
The energy supplied falls under the Green Energy offer provided by Enel Energia and is accompanied by Guarantees of Origin (GOs), electronic certificates issued by the Gestore dei Servizi Energetici (GSE). The Guarantees of Origin system, regulated by Directive (EU) 2018/2001 and the MASE Decree of 14 July 2023, ensures the highest level of transparency regarding the origin of the energy. In line with current regulatory provisions issued by ARERA, Enel Energia is required to procure and cancel a quantity of Guarantees of Origin equivalent to the electricity sold as renewable, thereby ensuring a real and verifiable match between consumption and energy generated from renewable sources.
Thanks to this mechanism, Blupura has documented assurance that the electricity it uses comes from renewable sources such as wind, photovoltaic solar, hydroelectric, geothermal energy and biomass. This contributes concretely to the reduction of indirect CO₂ emissions and supports the adoption of a more sustainable energy model.
This choice is part of a broader journey that sees Blupura committed not only to the development of sustainable water treatment solutions, but also to careful attention to internal processes and operational decisions.
