For Blupura, sustainability is a key principle that helps guide the development of our products and initiatives.. This vision drives us, year after year, to turn our values into concrete actions. Since 2024, we have been partnering with Treedom on a reforestation project that has now reached an important milestone: 2,000 trees planted across 8 countries, contributing to CO₂ absorption, biodiversity protection and support for local communities.
Reducing single-use plastic with Blupura water dispensers
For us, sustainability starts with everyday actions. Blupura water dispensers offer a practical solution to reduce the consumption of single-use plastic, eliminating the need to purchase, transport and dispose of thousands of plastic bottles every year. This helps reduce waste and the emissions associated with bottle production and distribution, while encouraging a more responsible way of consuming water.
This is the core of our business: developing solutions that help people and organisations reduce the use of single-use plastic and the waste associated with bottled water consumption.
Reforestation with Treedom: a project supporting environmental and social benefits
Alongside solutions that help reduce plastic consumption, Blupura continues to invest in reforestation through its partnership with Treedom. Following the commitment made in 2024, our forest has now reached a new milestone, reaffirming our determination to turn sustainability goals into tangible results.
Today, it includes 2,000 trees, representing 24 tree species across 8 countries, supporting activities that extend beyond tree planting, including agroforestry practices and local community involvement.
The impact of Blupura GreenWood in numbers
- 2,000 trees planted through Treedom.
- 462,925 kg of CO₂ absorbed over the trees‘ lifetime.
- 39,226 m² of new tree cover contributing to increased vegetation coverage in the areas involved in the project.
- 8 countries involved: Kenya, Colombia, Ghana, Nepal, Madagascar, Guatemala, Tanzania and Cameroon.
- 24 different tree species, including forest and fruit trees, selected to promote biodiversity, environmental resilience and sustainable development.
Every tree is planted and cared for by local farmers within agroforestry systems that help protect the land, enhance biodiversity and create new economic opportunities for local communities.
Environmental and social benefits of the reforestation project
Treedom projects promote sustainable agriculture, support food security and help create long-term income opportunities for local families.
Impact assessments carried out by Treedom in collaboration with ALTIS – Università Cattolica also highlight positive outcomes in agricultural training, the adoption of sustainable farming practices and the development of partner organisations in the countries involved.
Innovation and environmental responsibility at Blupura
Our partnership with Treedom is a natural extension of Blupura’s sustainability vision. On one hand, we continue to develop technologies that help businesses, offices, hospitality venues and public spaces reduce the use of single-use plastic. On the other, we support reforestation projects that contribute to CO₂ absorption, biodiversity conservation and support for local communities. The Blupura Forest is a tangible example of the initiatives we promote in the field of reforestation and projects that benefit the territories involved.
